Why Equipt Leads with Design: Crafting Stylish Fitness Equipment for Modern Living

At Equipt, we believe that fitness gear should fit seamlessly into your lifestyle and space, not detract from it. By leading with design, we create fitness equipment that looks beautiful, functions well, and inspires you to move every day. Here’s why we focus on design and how you can transform your own space with stylish, versatile equipment. Fun fact: when designing our first gold Ubarre weight I took a bag of makeup to our manufacturer. Gorgeous packaging, beautiful lipsticks by Tom Ford that make you want to throw on lipstick because the packaging is so good and feels so luxurious! Okay back to matters at hand... (naturally a hand wearing a uwrap wrist weight)

Why Design-First Fitness Equipment Matters

When fitness gear is thoughtfully designed, it becomes more than just a tool for exercise—it’s an enhancement to your environment. Here are a few reasons why design matters in fitness equipment:

  • Inspires Consistency: When equipment looks good, you’re more likely to leave it out and, ultimately, use it more. One minute alone can boost endorphins and get your mind and spirit in the right place!
  • Fits Any Space: With neutral colors and sleek shapes, Equipt products blend seamlessly into various decor styles.
  • Multi-Functional: Pieces like the Ubarre or Uwraps serve as decor when not in use, perfect for those with limited space. You don't need a full seperate gym to make a great spot for movement!

Here is how to implement some EQUIPT chic weights into your home:
Select equipment that serves a functional purpose in workouts but also adds aesthetic value to your space. For example, use the Ubarre as a sculptural decor piece when it’s not in use.

  1. Visual Trigger to movement.
  2. Create a Designated Wellness Corner or place around the house. Set up a small area in your home—maybe a cozy corner or part of your living room—as your dedicated wellness space. Place your equipment thoughtfully so it feels like a natural part of the room. I also have a few ubarres sparingly around the house and pick them up and drop them everywhere. Anytime I walk by I pick it up and do a bicep curl! We had a Ubarre "collector" who is a major CEO in NY. He left the Ubarre on his desk and anytime he entered or exited the room he did the same move. Required no additional mental work and allowed for him to keep those minute moves going!
  3. Arrange with Intent. Display your equipment in a way that reminds you to use it. Keep items visible but orderly; stack mats, place weights on a shelf, or hang bands on hooks to create a sense of organized beauty. I actually keep my Uwraps in a vintage glass lion head bowl. Having them in a piece that is unique and brings joy when I see it attaches the same feeling to the uwraps making em want to strap them on at all times.
